Personal Statement Hello, my name is McKenzie Baker I am currently a Junior enrolled at Clear Fork High School in Bellville, Ohio. I live in a small farming community where the ball fields are surrounded by corn fields. There are many different reasons why I am who I am, I was raised to respect people and treat people the way you would want to be treated. When I was little I played soccer and basketball, I would of never thought of playing softball when I was five. One year I heard about a summer league from some friends, I decided to play and fell in love with with the game instantly.

At that time, I did not know the importance that the game would have in my life. The next year, I decided to play again and began to get better and better each year. I started getting picked to play in All Star games each year after that. I decided to take the next step, my eighth grade year I went and tried out for a travel softball team. Every year since then I played travel softball, currently I am playing for the 16u Ohio Fever Elite.
We recently won a berth to the 2016 USSSA World Series in Salisbury, Maryland. I also play for my high school team, which I have been on J.V.
Since Freshmen year. Throughout many years of playing I have learned my strengths and weaknesses. My strengths are the ability to support and pump my team up at tough times and in tough situations, I also have the knowledge of the game and its rules. Also, I believe I have the strength in leading my team and having the ability to communicate with my teammates.
The most important strength I have is respect and sportsmanlike qualities toward opposing and my own teammates. I have many academic goals throughout high school and college to prepare me for my future. In high school I push myself to be in all AP or Honors classes, such as English. I plan to take all biology and anatomy classes, in math I will take calculus and trigonometry. In college I will major in biological sciences, forensic sciences, criminal justice, and/or nursing. I would like to earn my Bachelors degree in any of these subjects, in which I choose to pursue.
