Youneedan Antivirus to scan your computer for this virus. If you don't have an Antivirus, you can download Microsoft Security Essentials for free. I have provided a link below to download Microsoft Security Essentials.
Itprotects against viruses, malware and spyware. It also provides real time protection andauto updates without you having to do so manually. If this is a differenttype of viewer, then you can ignore the instructions about Antivirus. You would need to give more details about when you are experiencing this issue. What is your operating system? What service pack level?
What is the viewer product? What were you doing when you recieved the error? Please reply back with more details.

Mick Murphy - Microsoft Partner. Catalyst Control Center Launcher starts and then fails (chronic). I have a 6 month old laptop.
It has 5 SP updates, and the CLI5 start (this launcher) fails over and over. The HP Support site has 7 articles pertaining to this issue, 4 of which have identical topic titles (but DIFFERENT SP releases). So, I think it is inherently bad engineering to have to reinstall ALL the updates AGAIN, in release/number order; the control center or HP Assistant recommended the updates, which I installed. So this is like DLL Hell all over again, because I have rebuilt my machine (reinstalled the OS from the virtual drive and then followed all the updates using the HP Control Center.which is now broken. Pathetically, I did this twice in the past month, and I cannot see doing it again!!!The (AMD) Catalyst Control Center fails repeatedly.HP Support shows4 articles with identical titles that pertain to SP downloads, which appear in the list in no logical SP order. Each ppurportedly 'fixes drivers' and one of the is missing from the list of SPs I have downloaded and installed. Users need more specific info, i.e., maybe I need to download/install ALL the SPs in release order?
IUnfortunately, no information about UNINSTALLING a 'newer update' to accommodate a dropped update in the chain of releases. Ihave downloaded and installed the following SPs (most recent first): 62316, 61231, 60936, 59620, 58915, 55082. But one, (SP59619) is not in my list.

Couple of them include compatibility of the game with Windows 8 or outdated/incompatible display driver currently installed on the computer. Apart from that, other programs running at the background might also cause such issues. What is the Make and Model of the computer?
I would suggest you to refer to the manufacturer website of the computer to download and install the latest display driver for Windows 8. Follow the methods: Method 1: Download and install the latest display driver for Windows 8 from the laptop’s manufacturer website and check if it fixes the issue. Make sure that you uninstall the current version and then install the latest ones.
Follow the steps: Note: Make sure that you have downloaded the latest driver before doing so; Press Windows+X keys and select Device Manager. Locate the Display adapter and expand the driver icon.
Right click on the driver icon and select Uninstall.Follow the onscreen instructions to uninstall the driver.Locate the folder which has the setup file for the driver. Double Click on the setup file and follow the onscreen instructions to install it. You can also refer to the link to update display card driver. Check if the same issue occurs while the games.
If yes, proceed to the next method. Method 2: Perhaps, there could be some other non-Microsoft application that is causing this issue.
Refer to the link to place the computer in clean boot state: Refer to the section “Windows 8” You can refer to the section “How to determine what is causing the problem by performing a clean boot” to check for the application or program that is causing this issue: Note: Please refer to the section: How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue. Then, try playing the game and see if it makes any difference. Please get back to us with the status of this issue. Hi, the problem is due to conflicts, normally a USB camera. However, many windows have problems with adobe 7 and in fact you will get a message to that effect and it will NOT load. Just disconnecting the camera MAY work. However my machines still lock up so now I have to use my wifes computer, and do 1 piccies at a time.
Do make sure you are using V5 from Veho. Frankly there support is poor, telling me to use adobe 7 when it will not run on most versions of windows and is causing a flag to come up saying as much!
If you have Catalyst Control Center installed: right-click the Desktop Catalyst Control Center. There's an 'about version' button in CCC. If you don't have CCC installed: open Device Manager expand Display adapters double-click your display adapter, and open the Driver tab. There, you'll see the driver date, and (with the Driver Details button) can see the driver version numbers. Either way, though, it doesn't rather matter. If either the display drivers themselves, or CCC, are crashing, the usual fix is to install the latest driver package (or CCC package) from Select your operating system and videocard. Download the package (Save, not Run); I'd recommend saving it to your Desktop.
Uninstall your video drivers or CCC from Control Panel Uninstall a program; reboot when conpleted. When Windows starts, watch your system tray for the 'installing device driver' balloon popup. When it comes up, click it and hit 'cancel.' Run the file that you downloaded from ATI/AMD, and install the new driver package. Reboot when directed. If this is a laptop, then check with your manufacturer for a newer driver version, or see if Windows Update has a newer display driver listed for you (typically listed as an Optional update.) Install. Restart. N a clean boot, you will disable all startup items and third party services when booting.
Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications, startup items or service that is loading may be causing the issue. The “clean boot” uses a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that we can determine whether a background program is interfering. Click Start on your Desktop Type msconfig in the Start Search box and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue. On the General tab, click Selective Startup. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All. When you are prompted, click Restart. Once the computer is back to your Desktop, check to see if you are still having the problem. If the issue is resolved by placing the machine in “clean boot” then we have some sort of third party application and or service running that is possibly interfering. To determine which program(s) and or service(s) that is causing this, we would need to go back into “msconfig” and start to enable programs and services and reboot until we see which one causes the problem.
This can be a long process but is needed to find the conflicting program. If placing the computer in “clean boot” does not fix the issue or identify the conflicting programs, then after the troubleshooting is done, follow the steps above “To return your computer back to normal boot”. I just got an answer from AMD for a known problem with Catalyst Control Center and Windows 7. It worked for me the first time after a lot of troubleshooting.
How to resolve CCC not loading/opening when initializing it. Scenario: The user attempts to open/load the CCC through various methods, but it fails to load. The issue may happen with no changes to the system or a Catalyst driver update or reinstall.
This is issue mainly affects Windows 7 machines. Cause: Possible corruption of the Windows Global Assembly Cache (GAC).
This usually requires the user to format and reinstall Windows. Resolution: This solution has been tested - reproduced and resolved. Remove all ATI through programs and features in the Control Panel using the Catalyst Install Manager (CIM).
Reboot the system in safemode and do the following: - Delete all ATI folders in C: programs files and C: programs files (x86) - Go to C: Windows assembly and sort by 'Public Key Token'. Locate the following Public Key Token '90ba9c70f846762e' that is - associated with ATI. Usually only 2 entries. Delete the 2 entries. Note: the entries should be deleted (right click and choose uninstall) in safemode since regular - mode may result in a permissions error.
The 2 entries only show up in systems affected by this issue. This means that searching for the 2 entries on systems where CCC loads, the entries are not there. Shut down and re-start normally. Reinstall the ATI Catalyst package. Hopefully this will get you back in working order! Go to your computer manufacture's support web site and check for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number. If there are updated Windows 7 drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the Motherboard/chipset drivers (For laptops there also may be an integrated Video driver), SATA, LAN, Audio, USB, Etc., and so on.
If you have an Intel motherboard you can try the Intel Driver Update Utility: Check the Graphics card manufacture's download site for the most recent Windows 7 drivers for your card. ATI: J W Stuart: http://www.pagestart.com.

Proposing an answer that I've been posting with Asus and the Intel and ATI boards (can a mod change this?), and the cure for the BSODs with HD4870+Intel Matrix/Chipset+Vista (the issue I've been having requiring 9 reinstalls of Vista). Solution: Upon installation of the Catalyst drivers, change the default location from. C: Program Files ATI Technologies to C: Program Files ATI The issue is ATI hard coded the CIM files to install in either the C: Program Files ATI or any other directory BUT C: Program Files ATI Technologies. This is true for 9.1/9.2/9.3/9.4 versions of Catalyst. The result is the CIM directory doesn't exist (you may only see one file in that ATI Technologies directory, but not the folder named CIM, and it's associated directories - if your Event viewer shows an installation error about ATIeRecord or an EEE install error, the CIM directories are missing). Without those CIM files it will misbehave if your system uses Intel Matrix and/or Intel Chipset drivers - streams of BSODs, almost a new one for every reboot. So uninstall the ATI drivers fully.
Change the default installation directory, and reboot. It may take 2 reboots, or even a full shutdown, and a reboot to make sure BIOS and Vista work together. But this is the cure for this pesky problem - no more Event viewer errors; warnings; information entries.and BSODs!
